As part of his campaign promises to prioritize the welfare of people in the rural areas in his government, Governor Ademola Adeleke presented over 500M Cheques to Forty Communities in the State.
The Governor presented cheques ranging from #4 million naa to #15 million naira to the representative of the 40 communities selected for various social intervention projects in the first phase of the scheme.
Governor Adeleke, at the event held at Aurora Event centre in Osogbo, the State capital, directed the Osun Community and Social Development Agency (OSCSDA) to begin quick implementation of the rural electrification project, social and community development programmes of his administration.
He said the social intervention projects is part of the efforts of the PDP led administration in the State to embark on programmes that will have direct positive impacts on the lives of the people of Osun State.
Earlier, the General Manager of the agency, Mrs. Aderonke Abokede, had said members of the working team of her OSCSDA will in the next couple of days start visiting beneficial communities in the state shall to jump-start the implementation of the projects.
She explained that Osun Community and Social Development Agency had received an express approval from, Governor Ademola Adeleke with appropriate funding, to embark on immediate implementation of Community Plans, Social Development and Poverty Alleviation Programme across the communities in the State which are parts of the Agenda of the Governor’s Administration.
It will be recalled that the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke had embarked on developmental drive in the state which includes rehabilitation of major township roads across the 9 Federal Constituency of Osun, Flag-off of Imole Free Surgical and medical outreach, construction of motorized boreholes across the 332 Wards in the State to meet the immediate water needs of the identified areas in the state.
All these projects are slated to be completed and be commissioned by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in his first 100 days in Office.
