The Theatre Command Operation Hadin Kai has presented additional three Chibok girls who recently escaped from Sambisa forest.
The rescued girls are Ruth Bitrus, Kauna Luka and Hannatu Musa.
Briefing newsmen at headquarters of the Command, the Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai Major General Christopher Musa attributed the recent success to the use of both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in the counter insurgency operation.
Major General Musa said the Chibok girls were rescued with their four children by troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama between June 27 and July 26.
General Officer Commanding GOC Seven Division Nigerian Army Major General Waidi Shaibu explained that the clearance operation conducted by troops created the enabling environment for the girls to escape.
In an interview one of the rescued Chibok girl Ruth Bitrus said she spent three days in the bush trying to escape adding that her parent is what she missed.most.
Similarly, The Theatre Commander disclosed that more than seventy thousand Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters and their families have surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai.
General Musa said out the number, fourteen thousand are male fighters, more than twenty thousand women and thirty five thousand children.
According to him, the Command in conjuction with the office of the Attorney General of the federation have commenced review of cases of the detainees at the joint investigation centre.
He added that some of detainees have been cleared and have been handed over to Borno state government and United Nations Children Fund UNICEF.
