Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, the incumbent Senator representing Yobe South on Saturday, won the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial primary election.
He has Defeated three other candidates, Dr. Umar Ibrahim Majlam, Allah. Abba Goji and Sen. Mohammed Hassan Dambu Who got zero vote respectively with 186 votes to nothing, making him the party’s senator candidate for Yobe South in the 2023 election
The chairman of the election committee, Bashir Maina Dungus, who announced the results of the primary elections, said, “Senator Bomai has received the highest votes which is based on the interests of the delegates and therefore, I declared him the winner.”
Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, the Senator expressed his deep gratitude in particular to the delegates for the confidence they placed in him by voting him for a second term.
He reassured them of his commitments towards representing the good people of Yobe South and promised never to betray their trust.
Yobe South Senatorial District consists of four local government areas of Potiskum, Fika, Fune and Nangere.
