The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensure the security and welfare of corps members serving in the state.
Governor Buni gave the assurance During the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch C stream II corps members, deployed to Yobe State, at NYSC orientation camp, Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area.
Buni stated that he has directed all security agencies and community leaders to ensure a conducive environment is created for them to thrive.
While congratulating the corps members for a successful graduation from their various institutions of higher learning, Governor Mai Mala Buni who was represented by the Chairman NYSC state governing board, also a Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth Sport, Social and Community Development Alh Barma Shettima, urged the corps members to view their deployment to Yobe as a call to contribute to the national development.
Earlier in an address of welcome the Yobe State NYSC Coordinator Mrs Hafsat Yerima commended youths for answering the call to serve the fatherland in the State and charged them to be disciplined and hardworking.
Mrs. Yerima explained that the orientation course programmes of the service year will expose Corps Members to programmes and activities that will give them a better understanding of the objectives of the NYSC Scheme, as well as the Environment, Language, and Culture of their host community.
Highlights of the event include the swearing-in of One Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Eight, (1158), Corps Members deployed to the State, administered by the Yobe state Chief Judge, represented by Justice Adamu Jangere of the High Court of Justice.
