Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has presented one hundred and thirty nine point three billion naira as twenty twenty three appropriation bill to the House of Assembly for consideration.
The Appropriation bill christened budget of Infrastructural consolidation and transition has an Increase of thirty two billion naira compared to last year budget which was one hundred and six billion naira.
Governor Lalong explained that the increase in the budget for twenty twenty three was of government’s desire to complete ongoing projects before the end of the administration.
The Governor said the projected revenue for the twenty twenty three fiscal year would consist of six billion naira as internally generated revenue with government share of Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC having eighty three point eight billion naira while twenty nine billion naira would be generated from capital receipts.
In the breakdown of the budget, water, sanitation and energy has the highest allocation of forteen point nine billion naira followed by Adminstration having thirteen point two billion naira while education sector takes seven point seven bilion naira.
Correspondent Koptang Dakop reports that the Governor made the presentation before the house members at the assembly chambers in company of the Deputy Governor, Professor Sonny Tyoden and the Deputy Speaker of the House of representatives, Idris Wase among other dignitaries.
