The National leadership of the Muyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, (MACBAN) has called on the Federal and the Northern state goverments to find a lasting solution to cattle rustling.
The National Director General of the association, Bello Aliyu Gotomo, made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
The Director General who lamented the recent wednesday attack in parts of Kebbi state, explains that, about three thousand cattles including camels and sheeps were rustled by bandiths.
According to him, this was the worst attack of rustling that occured in the history of kebbi state where unspecified number of animals were rustled as well as killing some of the pastoralists.
Aliyu Gotomo, explains that, after reporting the incident to the Kebbi state government and the security, he has the assurance that, the authories concern are are doing their best to rescure the animals.
Gotomo said, why the high number of rustled animals was as a result of converging together of fulani pastoralists from Sokoto and Zamfara states in Kebbi state.
While calling on fulani pastoralists to remain calm over the bandits attack, the Director General urged them to continue to be law abiding citizens and leave peacefuly with community they are with.
Gotomo also pointed out that, fulani pastoralists contributes to the economic development of the country.
