The Independent National Electoral Commissioners has declared Hon. Jajere Muhammed Buba of the Peoples Democrat Party PDP, as the winner of the Saturday 3rd February 2024 Re Run, for the Federal House Of Representative, representating Fika/Fune Federal Constituency.
Declaring the election results at Government Science and Technical College Damagum, Fune Local Government Headquarters, the returning officer Dr. Abacha Melemi, said the election was conducted Peacefully without any form of disruption or irregularities.
After margin the re run elections result, Dr Melemi explained that Hon Jajere Muhammed Buba of the PDP won the election having scored 32,557 votes to defeat other contestants.
” after margin all the results on a single page, the contestants scored the following votes, Idris Abubakar, AA, 78 votes; Ahmed Abdulkadir Jajere, ADC, 400 votes; Muhammed Aliyu Sarkin Kasuwa APC, 31,969 votes; Sale Muhammad Sani NNPP 1011; Jajere Muhammed Buba, PDP, 32557 votes; Salisu Sale, SDP, 108; and Ali Ahmed Usman, YPP, 125; Dr Melemi added”
Announcing the winner, Dr Melemi explained that Jajere Muhammed Buba Of PDP won the election, having satisfies all the requirement of the law and by scoring the highest numbers of votes.
It would be recalled that on November 2nd 2023, the court of Appeal sitting in Abuja ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to conduct a re-run election in Balde Primary School, Poling Unit 001, Shoye Garin Aba Ward in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe state.
According to the INEC, Total registered voters in the Poling Unit are 768, and the numbers of collected voter cards are 762.
During the Re Run Election, only 96 Voters were accredited, and PDP Polled 93; Total rejected Votes are 3;
An Election Observer, Azeez Aisha explained that the election was conducted peacefully and with a fair turn out.
Radio Nigeria Reports that Accreditation and voting began at eight 8’00AM and ended at exactly 20:30 PM, amidst Security Agents, Parties Agent, Observers, INEC Officials and Local Government Council Representatives.
