The New Nigeria People's Party has accused the kano police command of planning to arrest the kano NNPP party stalwarts in the 44 local government areas of the state.The NNPP senatorial candidate for Kano North Dr. Baffa Bichi disclosed this during a media briefing organized by the party's stakeholders in its secretariat in Kano.Dr. Baffa Bichi who spoke alongside all the NNPP senatorial candidates, gubernatorial candidate Abba Gida Gida and another house of representatives candidates alleged that the kano commissioner of police CP Mamman Dauda in collaboration with the state government create a crisis that may cause the postponement of elections in Kano.He said the current political situation in Kano was highly tense stressing that they have evidence of a list that has been composed for their members to be arrested by the Kano state police command.Dr. Baffa Bichi on behalf of all the NNPP stalwarts calls on the Inspector General of Police to with immediate effect redeploy the commissioner of police for peace to reign in kano during and after the elections.Bichi maintained that with the current situation in Kano, they are planning to withdraw their signature from the peace accord that has already been signed.Dr. Baffa Bichi appealed to all the security agencies to monitor the situation in kano with care and curiosity, stressing that NNPP is planning for a peaceful protest in all the 44 LGAs in Kano so that the people will know the real situation on the ground." we will soon release the names of those the police were planning to arrest, and we have reliable information that that list was being brought together by the local government chairmen, stressing that no amount of intimidation would be made them lose elections "Dr Baffa Bichi Also accuses the Kano Police Command for refusing to enforce court order on some politicians in the state .When Contacted the Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, confirmed the arrest of suspected political thugs of all the major political parties in the state.He explained that those arrested pose a great threat to the implementation of electoral process in the state."
