    Contractors handling the construction of 500 housing units in Birnin Kebbi metropolise, has appealled to the Kebbi state government to review the earlier contract sum for them to meet the January 2023 completion date.The Chairman of the contractors, Alhaji Umaru Garima, made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.Alhaji Garima told newsmen that, initial bill for the contract was signed in the last five years with 2 bedroom bungalor contract sum of 6 million and 3 bedroom at 7 million naira each.According to him, the project would have been completed earlier but with the current situation of high cost of building materials delayed the completion.Garima pointed out that, most of the contractors had reached 85 to 90 percent completion and hoping with the review of the contract sum, the project would be completed early next year.The contractor revealed that, government has assured them that, if the 500 housing units were completed, additional 1000 units of houses would be constructed in the state.During the period of Senator Adamu Aleiro's administration as Governor, over 1000 housing units were constructed and that of Saidu Usman Dakingari's about 500 units were also constructed.Abdullahi Tukur
