Yobe State Governor Hon. Mai Mala Buni has launched free vaccination for Livestock against anthrax disease.
Speaking at the occasion held at the Kuka-reta community of Damaturu local government area, Governor Buni said the state government has decided to take proactive measures to protect people and livestock, to safeguard the economy of the livestock farmers.
He, therefore revealed that the Government has procured 1,500,000 doses of ASV vaccine to cover the vaccination exercise on the estimated livestock population of about 7,000,000 in all the 17 Local Government Areas of the State.
Buni explained that the exercise would foster against the spread of Transboundary Animal Diseases (TADs).
The Governor further enjoin all Veterinary Doctors, animal health workers and other stakeholders to work hard to ensure that all nooks and crannies of the State are fully covered in the state-wide exercise.
