Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has said that his administration will continue to accord priority to the development of transport sector inview of its importance to the socio economic development of any nation.
The Governor stated this while flagging off of twenty one vehicles for the smooth operation of Niger State Traffic Management Agency NISTMA in Minna.
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello explained that with this development Niger state government has added sixty three buses to the fleet of the state transport sector and that it is committed to ensuring its success.
According to him Niger state government will pay staff of the Agency for three months after which they will be paying their staff with revenue they have generated.
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello enjoined them to be responsible for the administration control and management of traffic matters with a system of operation that is efficient as well as responsive to the demand of traffic and with a target of providing safe orderly movement of persons and goods
Commissioner of Transport Barrister Zakari Mohammed Tanko said the law establishing the Agency was assented to by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in July twenty twenty one in his desire to have an effective and all inclusive management of transportation sector in Niger state.
The twenty one vehicles commissioned are ten power bikes six hilux vans an ambulance and four towing trucks.
