The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama says Nigeria is determined towards attaining the 2060 target of zero emission of the United Nations.
He stated this in Abuja when he recieved the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Sustainable Energy for All, Mrs.Damilola Ogunbiyi.
He said the Federal Government had put alot of efforts in achieving zero carbon emission to ensure transition to clean energy.
Mr Onyeama appreciated the UN special representative for making sure Gas which is a major revenue earner for Nigeria to be recognized by the UN as an a transition fuel.
The United Nations Under Secretary General for the 2060 target to be achieved by all nations, people need to empowered and taken out of energy poverty.
She explained that the use of diesel and fuel should also be minimized to adopt the use cleaner energy especially by developing countries.
