The Director General ,National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons(NAPTIP) Dr, Fatima Waziri Azi has called on Nigerians to redoubled their efforts in the fight against human trafficking in the country.
The Director General made the call while speaking at a training and coordination meeting for members of Kwara state Task Force organised by the agency in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IMO) in Ilorin.
Represented by Director Research and Programme Development of the agency,Mr Olubiyi Olusayo ,the Director General said all hands must be on deck to reduce the menace of human trafficking to the minimum.
In her address the project Manager , International Organization for Migration (IMO) Mrs Nguvulu Bertha represented by the project Assistance ,Mrs Adeniya Tolu said the organization will ensure adequate support to the task force to enable it succeed.
In his remark on the occasion,Kwara state Attorney General and Commisssioner for Justice, Barrister Senior Ibrahim Sulyman represented by the Head of Unit Gender Based Violence Matters at the ministry, Barrister Funke Balogun said the state government will facilitate the formulation of policy that will ensure total reduction of activities of traffickers in the state and the country in general.
Earlier in his address the Commander NAPTIP ,Kwara state Command ,Saadu Mustapha commended the participants for assisting the agency to achieve it’s mandate.END
