The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Yobe State Council has called on the Farmers and Herders to imbibe the habit of living in peace with one another.
The NUJ made the call in a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman Rajab Mohammed, and its Secretary Alhassan Sule Mamudo.
According to the statement, Yobe is an agrarian state serving as food baskets of the Northeast sub-region, accommodating a large number of livestock herders.
“We seek partnerships with traditional institutions, security agencies, farmers and herders groups, stakeholders, and other partners in ensuring peaceful coexistence among the communities”.
The Union is further calling on religious faith leaders to sustain prayers for a bumper harvest, peace, and unity.
