The National Youth Service Corps has reaffirmed its determination in ensuring that Corps Members have Access to Health care service where ever they are being posted to.
The Coordinator of NYSC in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad Stated this during a sensitization program organized by the Agency at the federal college of education Kano.
She said the objective of the sensitization was to acquaint the corp members to know how they can access the free medical services under the National health insurance scheme.
Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad noted that the schemes cover all serving corps members in all parts of the federation.
“We’ve sensitized corps members from Kura zone, Bichi Zone and today we are doing the sensitization for the kano metropolis ”
Speaking during the sensitization program An Assistant General Manager National Health Insurance Scheme Hajiya Aisha Umar said the Corps members were enrolled in the Scheme for the period of their service Year.
“The Corps members were been registered automatically, we use their call up number to be their NHIS Numbers, and they can accessed health service at any facility registered with NHIS across the Nation”
Aisha Umar maintained that the program aimed to reduce the high risk of medical bills, aimed at uplifting the health status of the General Populace.
“Even married corps members that are pregnant can access free health care services during antenatal, even when the delivery comes with complications NHIS Covers”
The sensitization program was attended by corps members from metropolis.
