President Muhammadu Buhari has stressed the need for using education in dissuading the youth from ideological manipulation.
He made the emphasis at the APC presidential campaign rally at August 27 Stadium, Damaturu, Yobe State.
He urged parents to send their children to school and make them understand that whatever they had amassed could be taken away from them except the knowledge you had in their head.
He said he was raised up as an orphan, but that education he had in a boarding school offered him access into the Nigerian Army.
The President advised parents to strengthen their faith, and try their best to uphold the children and family God has entrusted to them.
On politics, the President said a vote for Tinubu and Kashim Shettima would further guarantee peace, security, and socio-economic development.
He urged eligible voters in Yobe State and the northeastern part of the country to ensure that his party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was elected in the forthcoming general elections.
The President said following the strength given by the Almighty at crushing insurgence, the APC-led government was determined to crush whoever would threaten the unity of Nigeria.
He challenged the party’s flagbearers in the forthcoming general elections, to ensure good governance when elected and not to disappoint the electorate.
President Buhari explained that the governing party had done its utmost in the last 8 years, saying that it would continue to ensure the progress, prosperity and stability of Nigeria.
The presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had urged Nigerians to reject the lies peddled by opposition parties on the Buhari-led administration, stressing that his government is a government of progress, integrity and honesty.
He praised the Almighty for strengthening President Buhari in restoring peace and normalcy in the northeast region, promising that his government will turn the region into agro-allied processing centre of Nigeria.
‘‘We will give you good jobs that you can depend on. Agriculture will come back. Hunger will go away. We will give you what is necessary, consumer credit to build houses and roofs over your heads’’, he said.
Asiwaju Tinubu also promised to make the perennial ASUU strikes history, adding that undergraduates will not need to spend extra years in the university beyond the standard duration of course of study.
He urged the people of Yobe State and the northeast to vote APC candidates in the general elections, assuring that Nigeria’s economic prosperity will blossom under his watch.
While making remarks during the rally, Senate President Ahmed Lawan noted that APC would win every contestable seat in Yobe State, explaining that the people will not take for granted President Buhari’s efforts at making life better for them.
‘‘We are all Buharists and that Buharism-integrity and love for the country will continue even after President Buhari had handed over to Asiwaju’’, the Senate President said.
