The Kebbi State Police Command has presented cheques of over eighteen point one million naira to five families of those officers that loss their lives in the course of discharging their duty.
Speaking while presenting the cheques, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, said the cheques were from the Inspector General of Police to presented to the families of the late officers.
According to the Commissioner of Police, the kind gesture from the IGP was not only limited and supporting the families of the deceased officers but booting the moral of the serving police to do more in the fight against crimes and criminality as their welfare is paramount.
The Commissioner of Police used the medium to advise the families of the deceased police officers to use the money judiciously in aleomirating the financial needs of the families.
Equally, the Command paraded eight suspects for committing various crimes that include theft and receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnapping as well as culpable homicide.
