The Niger state police command says it has rescued seven kidnapped victims and recovered two point one million naira ransom from kidnappers.
Police Public Relations Officer Niger State Command DSP Wasiu Abiodun stated this in a statement issued to Newsmen in Minna.
DSP Wasiu Abiodun further said that the police in Niger state also apprehended two notorious kidnappers based on the intelligence recieved from good samaritans.
According to him two kidnapped victims were arrested by the police tactical teams with local vigilante members at Lambata Bonu road in Gurara local government council of Niger state.
During interrogation the two suspects Isiyaku Abdullahi eighteen years and Muhammadu Sani Yakubu aged twenty one confessed to being among the kidnapping syndicates terrorising Gwagwalada FCT Abuja Lambata and Kafin Koro axis of Niger state.
Three handsets and two point one million naira collected as ransom by the kidnappers were recovered by the tactical teams and vigilante members.
They have also engaged in a gun battle with the kidnappers that abducted seven victims at Gwalo forest around Lambata and Kafin Koro forest where the hoodlums escaped and abandoned seven victims comprising of six males and one female.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed but the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger state Agundele Ayodeji has reassured Nigerlites of a secured environment for peace and prosperity to thrive.
