    In a bid to create a peaceful conduct for the general election, troops of one division of the Nigerian Army and Air component of Operation whirl punch have dealt a heavy blow on bandits and other criminal elements in Kaduna State.This was contained a statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations One Division, Lt Colonel Musa Yahaya.It explains that during the patrol, troops neutralised five bandits and recovered ten motorcycles from the bandits, while several other motorcycles were destroyed.Other items recovered included two AK47 rifles, five improvised explosive devices, two mobile phones, bandits' uniforms and magazines.The statement notes that the over forty-eight hour operation led to the clearance of Mando-Sabon Birni-Maidaro-Dogon dawa, Galadimawa-Saulawa-Farin ruwa and polewire villages.It adds that the General Officer Commanding the division, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja commended the troops for their gallantry and resilience and charged them not to relent until banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other crimes are brought to an end. Usman Sani.
