Damaturu – Governor Mai Mala of Yobe State has today Wednesday, awarded with certificate of return.
Having declared the winner of the recently concluded guber along side the State House Of assembly Elections.
Shortly, after collecting the certificate of return handed to him by the General M.A Alkali rtd, INEC National Commissioner supervising state of Bauchi, Yobe and Borno.
Governor Buni stated thus:
” it is with a great sense of honour and humility that l most respectfully express my profound gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for the peaceful and successful conduct of the just concluded general elections in the state”.
“It is gladdening that we, the people of Yobe state have conducted ourselves peacefully and maturely in both the Presidential and National Assembly elections, as well as, the Governorship and State Assembly elections, making our dear state proud.”
“We have truly exhibited that Yobe state is the home of peaceful elections built on the concept of ‘Politics Without Bitterness’ as propagated by our revered political icon, the late Alh. Waziri Ibrahim”.
” It is also heartwarming that politicians and their supporters in the state have refused to give room to political violence and thuggery, which further made Yobe state a role model of peaceful electioneering for other states to copy – I thank you all”.
“Now, with the elections over, l congratulate all those who participated. Although only some were returned elected, l commend the other contenders for putting in a good contest with a passion to serve the state. I also wish to commend the opposition Political Parties and their candidates for showing interest and passion to serve our dear state through healthy politicking”.
” The success of this election is therefore general, and collectively ours. I humbly dedicate this victory to Allah (SWT) and the entire people of Yobe state”.
“I, therefore, wish to extend our hands of fellowship and to invite you all to join us in the task of building our dear state. We will continue to maintain an open-door policy to give everyone a sense of belonging and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the State”.
“Let me seize this opportunity to specially appreciate and commend you, the good people of Yobe state for reinvesting your faith, and entrusting your mandate in us again for another term of office. Insha Allah, we shall not fail you, and we will not disappoint you”.
“We shall be more committed to improve on the achievements recorded in the last four years, to make the next four years more fruitful and rewarding for our people”.
“I also wish to reassure you that we shall in the years ahead, strive to strengthen the ‘Yobe first’ policy, for economic empowerment, and to have value for monies expended on government projects”.
“At this juncture, l appeal to you, to continue supporting government policies and programmes for the government to effectively and efficiently improve the lives of our people”.
“Before I conclude this address, l wish to recognise and express my profound gratitude to all members of the All Progressives Congress family in Yobe state. Special mention must be made of the State Chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Gadaka (Bill Gate) and members of the state working committee for working round the clock to ensure the success of the party and its candidates”.
“Similarly, we are hugely indebted to the Chairman Yobe state APC Campaign Council, His Excellency, Sen. Ibrahim Gaidam, the Director-General, Sen. Mohammed Hassan (Dambu) and the entire members of the council”.
“The contributions made by our elders including His Excellency Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim, His Excellency Ambassador Goni Modu Zanna Brah, Alh. Tijjani Tumsah and others too numerous to mention, towards the success of the party and its candidates, are highly appreciated”.
” I equally commend the security agencies for ensuring hitch-free elections across the state”.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) demonstrated an uncommon commitment to conducting free, fair, and generally acceptable elections across the state. This commitment indicates that Nigeria’s electioneering process and democracy have come of age”.
“The Non-Governmental and Civil Society Organizations, local and international observers played significant roles in ensuring that we have credible elections. You are most appreciated”.
“Not to be forgotten are members of the Press who carried out their duties professionally, contributing to the growth of democracy and nation-building. You are highly commended”.
“With these remarks, it is now my honour and pleasure to on behalf of my humble self and His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, to humbly accept this great honour of re-electing us for a second term of office, as the Executive Governor and Deputy Governor of Yobe state respectively, by the good people of Yobe state”.
