Borno state Governor Babagana Zulum has promised to assist victims of Gamboru market fire disaster.
Governor Zulum made the promise when he paid a sympathy visit to the traders at the market in Maiduguri.
Gamboru market which is the largest grain and vegetable market in Maiduguri Metropolis was gutted by fire on Saturday afternoon when Governorship and state assembly election is about to end.
The Governor assured that part of the market would be rebuild and the affected traders rehabilitated.
“We witnessed another fire incident here in Gamboru market, I want to commiserate with the traders who lost their property and want to assure them that Government will come to their aid” Zulum said.
Governor Zulum also expanded the Monday Market committee to assess the situation at Gamboru market with a view to cushion the hardship the traders.
He commended security, emergency and humanitarian agencies for their swift response and bringing the fire to control.
Corespondent Dauda Iliya reports that similar fire outbreak was reported at the timber market in Biu town, Southern part of the state which has destroyed part of the market.
