The awareness about the Importance of Childbirth Spacing is Yielding positive results.
The in charge of the facility’s Dikumari Primary Healthcare Centre, PHC, Mrs. Falmata Muhammad made this known when the team of media advocates on maternal health, supported by The Challenge Initiative and Development Communications, TCI,DevComs, in collaboration with the Yobe State Government paid an advocacy visit to Dikumari Primary Healthcare Centre, in Damaturu Local Government and Ngelzarma Primary Healthcare Centre in Fune Local Government Areas to access the level of the compliance on the Childbirth Spacing in the communities.
Mrs. Falmata Muhammad reveals that over 70 percent of women in the community visit the facility every month to access family planning services.
She explained that the family planning method is the easiest way of safeguarding the health of the mothers and their children.
Mrs Muhammad further called on the heads of the families to encourage their wives to adopt the family planning methods.
The head of Community Health Extention Workers at Ngelzarma PHC in Fune Local Government Area, Mrs Harira Isa Usman also expressed appreciation for the level of compliance in the area.
Harira said women of childbearing age in Ngelzarma catchment areas always increasing in numbers to access family planning and maternal healthcare services.
She, therefore, urges those accessing the services to encourage the remaining ones who are not enjoying the service by showing them the importance of childbirth spacing.
Some of the beneficiaries of the service Habiba Usman of Dikumari and Kellu Gana of Ngelzarma have expressed appreciation for the service saying it has impacted positively their lives.
