The National Council of Women Civil Organizations in Yobe have converge in Damaturu, the State Capital, seeking for justice, over the recent murder of Late Ammi Adamu Mamman at the early hours of Thursday January 4th, 2024.
The Incidence which Occurred at the New Bra-Bra Estate located along Damaturu – Maiduguri Road, had the husband to the deceased Abubakar Musa, a lecturer with Yobe State University, Damaturu, arrested as the major suspect and currently been investigated by the police and other security operatives.
The Women who conducted a road work from Stadium Gate Damaturu, to the office of the Commissioner of Justice located at the State Secretariat said they want justice to be served.
In an interview with the mother of the deceased, Fatima Adamu Mamman revealed to Radio Nigeria that she received with shock the sad news of her daughter’s demise who left Potiskum for Damaturu after her New Year Holiday.
Fatima said Late Ammi has never reported any case of domestic violence with her husband.
She called on security operatives to conduct a thorough investigation and do justice to her late daughter, who was murdered for no reason.
Describing the deceased, A friend, with name withheld, said Ammi is a gentle, kind, disciplined not aggressive and simple.
Explaining further, the friend noted that few days to the Incidence, she observed a sign of depression from the deceased but she keeps pretending all is in order.
Earlier in an interview with some friends to late Ammi Adamu Mamman, revealed that at the scene of the Incidence white powder, Cannabis Sativa and other hard drugs were found in the room of the suspected killer, which he claimed he was on medication.
When contacted, the state police public relations officer Abdulkareem Dungus said investigation are still on going and the suspect would be charged to court for further action.
Abdulkareem appealed to the people of the state to assist police with credible information on the incident to ensure justice and prevent future occurrences.
